Slowly saying goodbyes
A few of my friends are already on their way out. Only a few more months and the eldest volunteers are going back to the US. Out with the old and in with the new, that's the way it goes I suppose. In turn, we will be getting some new small business volunteers, which will be an interesting change of pace. It's hard to believe that I'll be a "sophomore" soon. I don't feel like I really know that much, but compared to 6 months ago it really is day and night. I know how to survive, have basic conversations, and I have projects that are do-able in the works. I think it struck me when my old host brother called me on the phone and I understood everything he said. When I left that place four months ago, I was catching only bits and pieces. I'm excited to see the new volunteers, but sad to see the veterans go. They are a testament to just how much can be accomplished if you put your mind to it.
